附註說明

1. 在一般的場合，人們通常不會為自己加上 Mr 或 Mrs 等尊稱，除非是當您預期對方理所當然要如此尊稱您時，例如，當國小教師對學生自我介紹時，以及此處到高檔餐廳用餐面對侍者時。

2. toilet 在英澳紐式英文裡通常是指廁所的意思，但在美式英文裡則通常是指馬桶。美式英文的廁所，如果是在公共場所，通常稱作 restroom。

3. appetizer 在英澳紐式英文裡通常拼成 appetiser。另外，要注意的是，appetizer 與 main course 都只能是可數名詞，所以我們要講 for the appetizer 與 for the main course。但 dessert 與 breakfast、lunch、dinner 等字一樣，可以是不可數名詞，所以我們講 for dessert，不加 the。

4. chips 在英澳紐式英文裡是指薯條，但美式英文的薯條要稱作 French fries。
